The Friends have a variety of ongoing programs and projects and some in development that need your leadership or financial support. In 2024, our generous donors provided over $65,000 to fund the Friends’ Special Projects!
Projects Needing Funding
Support Habitat Restoration projects by hiring licensed contractors to complement volunteer work in difficult areas – $14,500
Removal of invasive English ivy on west facing slopes to protect trees and slope erosion – $18,600
Plant new native plants and trees in areas cleared of invasive plants – 12,300
Continue multi-year Nix-the-Nox Project to remove poison hemlock – $3,000
Convert Battery Stoddard into a new park Interpretive Center – $3,800
Underwrite a one-year supply of Dogi-Pot pet waste bags for the trails area – $2,300
Underwrite a one-year supply of Trail Maps for the park – $2,900
Installation of new irrigation system for the Rhododendron Garden – $14,800
